Listed as a World Heritage Site, Changdeokgung Palace represents the main palace of Joseon Dynasty's kings, which shelters lotus ponds, pavilions, and some 300-year-old trees. Established in 1395, the palace compound contains a royal family residence, a public area, and a secret garden, as well as other simplistic elements dating back to the period of Three Kingdoms. Go on a tour to explore the harmonious palace and its halls, which were purposely constructed and designed by implementing feng shui principles and Confucian ideology. You'll also find snack bars, shaded rest areas, and benches here. Make Changdeokgung Palace part of your personalized Seoul itinerary using our Seoul trip builder website.

A wonderful palace to visit when you come to Seoul. It is a lot less busy than Gyeongbokgung Palace which makes your visit to it seem a lot more personal and intimate. Whilst here you can marvel at the architecture of the palace and its surrounding buildings or take a stroll through the many gardens and paths or relax at the lake. There is so much to do in this place and I recommend you spend a minimum 2 hours here to fully appreciate it! Would love to come back here!

The palace grounds cover a very large area. There are a lot of well maintained beautiful structures and buildings. Very cheap to enter. Information is available in English to help understand the significance of each place. I fully recommend visiting this site

Great location with tons of history behind the place. The palace/garden can sometimes feel as if it is a maze but this is a good thing. Tons of places to explore and as a whole is a good insight into what the past was like in Korea. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a historical experience. The tickets were also very affordable.

I got nice experience! Although it was Saturday and so busy waiting line is long, to get the ticket and then after that line again to go inside. But it’s huge place sometimes we can get some spot to sit and make a nice photos!

Quite a nice, large palace complex that's worth a visit if you have time. If you're not into history or culture, you're not going to miss a lot. On the day of our visit, the entrance ticket was free except for access to the Secret Garden which I did not take. The place is nice & calm to visit with nice open pavilions and courtyards but that's probably every area of the palace. I've read reviews about Secret Garden being absolutely beautiful, so if you do visit this palace, I highly recommend paying the entrance fee to the Secret Garden.
