Create an itinerary including Insadong
Once the prime district to find antiques and ancient art, Insadong remains at the heart of Seoul's cafe culture. The main street, which the municipality blocks off on weekends to allow for safe pedestrian traffic, branches off into narrow alleys, lined with art galleries, teahouses, and garden restaurants. Traditional and modern Korean art are available for viewing and purchase at over 100 local galleries. Munch on taffy and pajeon (Korean pancake) from street vendors while you explore. • A nice quiet neighbourhood which is good for shopping, with some affordable Korean souvenirs on offer. Worth visiting if you are close by.

  • Beautiful touristy and hip walking street in Seoul where you'll find lots of traditional deco houses, art galleries, artists, and traditional souvenirs and teahouses. It is very good to buy those kinds of stuff. It is one of my favorite places to visit!
  • Must go for foreigners!! Insadong street is such a cool historical place in Korea. There are traditional shops and restaurants all around you can really get a taste of Korea. We went during a public holiday so it was quite busy and it rained. I want to go back and see more. Most of the shop owners spoke a little bit of English so it was so nice to feel comfortable. They have an abundance of souvenirs for very cheap and of course you’re supporting local so it feels great!
  • We were there on Saturday and it was 3 days long weekend in Korea so the street was packed with locals eating our and shopping. Almost all the table of the street site BBQ were full, so it was lucky that we eat before hand. Besides the walking street, there were also many open air types buildings that we can go in and checked out all the little art and crafts stalls. As the nights go on, the street of Insadong seems to become more pack with people. We saw many young locals came out and hang out especially at photos boost types store. Very interesting experience to see how the locals spend their weekend.
  • This area has definitely most much of it's authenticity and become more of a tourist attraction. It'd be nice to see the street vendors selling authentic merchandise again instead of globally marketed items
  • A large street with lots of restaurants and cafes! There are also a lot of shops selling traditional and handmade products. It is impressive
