Create an itinerary including Alcudia Old Town
Surrounded by a medieval wall, Alcudia Old Town contains numerous well-preserved houses dating all the way back to the 13th century. Famous for its cozy alfresco restaurants, this old quarter is best explored on foot because of its narrow streets and limited parking. Pedestrianized and always packed by tourists, the neighborhood is home to a twice-weekly market and myriad tiny bistros known for serving a wide range of tempting local delicacies. Visit the remains of a Roman town just outside the old wall, and be sure to stop by the Church of Saint Jaume, a minor Gothic masterpiece. • Just a magical place! We were there in December so it was very quiet and most things were closed, but that made it pretty special to wander around. Walking on the wall gives you wonderful views both inside the city and the surrounding areas. It looked like there would be lots of eateries and shops normally that might be fun but the area could also get pretty congested in busy times!
  • Super cool place and great opportunity for picturesque shots of the surrounding area. Pretty amazing to just walk around on such an old site. There are some signs detailing some of the history and architecture, but was more interested in just walking on the elevated areas and taking in the views. Parents of small children beware: this may be a bit stressful as the back side of the elevated walk is only protected by wire. The walkway is wide enough and they are strong wires, but I imagine it could be nerve wrecking with younger kids.
  • Well worth the effort of climbing to the top of the wall for amazing views of the old town within the walls and the beautiful coastline of north east Majorca beyond. The steps are quite challenging in places but substantial hand and safety rails are there to help. The old town itself is steeped in history with quaint narrow streets and a couple of well preserved impressive city gates. Lots of small shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes. The only down side was we failed to access the roman ruins which were poorly sign posted.
  • Alcudia old town is lovely place worth visiting and enjoy a walk and a meal. The neo-Gothic Sant Jaume church is built into the town’s restored medieval walls. These walls encircle the well-preserved old town, which has narrow streets and centuries-old buildings.
  • Quiet shady and historic lots of souvenir and coffee shops to rest up. a couple of kilometres from the port end of Alcudia Bay beach, definately worth a visit if you're on Mallorca
