Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar
Cited as an outstanding example of Catalan Gothic architecture, Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar was completed in just 54 years, a remarkable feat for the time. The structure is made up of three naves of the same height, which are reinforced by tall columns 13 m (43 ft) apart—a huge distance, unmatched by any other medieval building still in existence. Known for a purity and unity of style that was rare in large buildings of its time, this imposing church features stained glass windows, but very few of the other interior decorations typically found in most Gothic churches. Beautiful church from the outside, but it doesn't compare to the jaw-dropping construction inside. Go after 6 PM if you don't want to pay, but definitely make sure you step inside and look up!!!!

Situated high on the bluffs overlooking the sea, close to shopping and wonderful cafes. Visit the castle across the way, you won't regret it.

Their stained glass is so beautiful. It’s worth to visit. And you can also climb up the tower by walking. When we visited there, it was not crowded. Google Map say it’s free but we paid 10 EUR to enter the church and go up the tower. Only entering the church, you need to pay 5 EUR.

This was really cool. I thought it was one of the better areas that I went to in Barcelona. The inside was phenomenal and had several exhibits to check out. The streets are fun to walk around and there are a ton of cafes and such to eat at

It was a nice place to visit. The rose window is very pretty and the ceiling is very high. The construction of the church started about 1320 so it is full of history. It’s an artistic and old cathedral and hope it will be kept well for people to see for years to come.

Located right in the middle of the Ribera District this Basilica was stunning! It was recommended to us by a friend and it did not disappoint. The price is 10 Euro per/person ( which is why I gave the rating 4-stars) yet we wanted to get to the rooftop as well as experience the beauty inside. It’s quite steep going up to the rooftop but there is a sturdy railing for those who get somewhat dizzy spiraling up the stairs. The rooftop granted us incredible views of the city and as it was right before sunset, there was no one there. The inside is just as impressive! Would recommend the area and the Basilica to spend a few hours to wander around & enjoy!

The church is one of Barcelona's landmarks, which looks like a fortress with its monumental towers in the old town. Locals call the church "Church of the poor". Especially worth seeing is the interior of the Santa Maria del Mar. You can also book a guided tour and enjoy the view over old town of Barcelona from the roof.
