Palace of Catalan Music
Each year more than half a million people enjoy the musical performances at Palace of Catalan Music, which was placed on the World Heritage List in 1997. Designed by architect Domenech i Montaner, this exquisitely ornamented structure was built between 1905 and 1908, and originally served as home to the Orfeo Catalá musical society. Widely regarded as a masterpiece of Catalan architecture, the building is a fine example of the Modernist style, featuring elements made of tiles, stones, and bricks. Try to attend a concert, but at the very least arrange to join a guided tour of the site’s famous auditorium, known for its blue-gold stained glass skylight and the sculpture of Wagner’s Valkyries. Beautiful theatre. The day I went there was also a dress rehearsal, which was excellent! If you like Gaudi, this should be on your list!

This is definitely one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in my life. The Palau is a great venue for live music. The architecture and decoration is simply astonishing, very colorful and classic atmosphere. The sound quality is excellent, and the seating is comfortable. The stage is visible from anywhere in the hall, and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. I attended a concert here and was blown away by the performance. I look forward to attending future events at this amazing venue.

Not here for a concert but enjoyed a cup of coffee and admire the building! It is amazing! I was speechless! So much detail to discover, so many little things to appreciate! The coffee shop serves very nice coffee and meal! The shop itself also have lots to appreciate Besides the churches here in Barcelona you needed to go and see! This music hall are not to be missed!

I wish I had been able to see a concert here! It's an amazing venue and I thought it was worth the cost of the visit. Be sure to bring your earphones so you can use the audio guide on your phone. There is also a cute cafe where you can get a quick bite inside too.

Absolutely worth a visit in Barcelona! It is beautiful inside and out from floor to ceiling. The entrance is 11 euros which is totally worth it and you can easily access an audio guide online - bring headphones - which tells you all about what you're seeing in each room. There are also in-person guided tours available. I believe they host shows too which I did not attend. Very pretty and impressive location!

We did a tour with the audio guide. The design of the palace is elaborate and showcases extensive use of floral and other organic motifs. There is extensive usage of marble, mosaic, ceramic and glass work. The audio guide lasts about 40 minutes and takes you through all the main parts of the building including the facade, the entrance, vestibule, foyer, the staircase and the concert hall. Despite the usage of various materials and designs, the design doesn't look overwhelming. It is very artistically and aesthetically done and is a treat for the eyes. The content of the audio guide is crisp and clear. It explains everything in a precise manner, making sure, the first time visitor doesn't get overwhelmed with facts and jargons. The staff is also friendly and helpful. Overall a wonderful experience and a must-visit when in Barcelona.
