Casco Viejo was once a walled city. Its colorful storefronts and lively nightlife make it a hotspot for locals and visitors alike. One local tradition you may see is a pub crawl in which Spaniards drink small glasses of wine called chiquitos and sing choral songs up and down the narrow streets. Three public elevators transport you to the top of the neighborhood, avoiding a challenging hike. To reach the area, take the Bilbao metro and exit the train at Casco Viejo station.
