  • Interesting museum, focused on Guernica bombing but also reflecting on war and peace. Good to discover or better understand Spanish civil war. Some guides in several languages.

  • This place is important to understand that making peace is a difficult thing. Lot of information about the guernica bombing, guernica painting, peace in the world.

  • Vivid account of the tragic bombing. Very sobering and important to visit. Highly recommend it. Muy importante por todo gente
  • Sadly enough German bombers (Legion Condor of the Luftwaffe, commander Wolfran von Richthofen) destroyed this town (with 30 Ton bombs) Guernica (april 1937) to help the dictator Franco and as an exercise for the second world war. To see how effective it would be on stone buildings. In a protest reaction Pablo Picasso create an artwork named Guernica. Guernica the old town from 1400, a holy place, with 5000 citizens, was demolished for 80% and set on fire, 300 citizens where killed needlessly. It was an act of terror. Survivors like Luis Iriondo (*1922) where traumatized for life. Von Richthofen writes in his report that it was very interesting to see how the houses burned… If this is helpful please give a 👍
  • My family had a very touching experience in this museum. All of us came out of there with a better understanding of the history, and the testimonies from locals ( along with an immersive room that gives you a glimpse into what it was like to live in an apartment during that era) were very powerful indeed. This is not something that you should skip.
  • Very well constructed exhibitions give the visitors a good insight into the attack on Gernika and its effects. Also thoughtfully presented and passionate advocation of the on-going search and need for peace.
  • A very nice museum that tells the story of Guinerca. The displays do not have English translations and you will be provided with an English booklet at the entrance. This kinda affected the immersiveness of the experience. They have student discounts and free entry one day a week.
