Create an itinerary including Santuari de Lluc
Experience the most important pilgrimage site on Mallorca, Santuari de Lluc. Founded in the 13th century after a Moorish shepherd found a statue of the Virgin Mary on the site, this monastery offers a place of tranquility, spirituality, artistic heritage, and natural beauty. Wander around the grounds to appreciate the view of the mountains and the medieval monastic architecture. Behind the monastery buildings, there's a botanical garden trail with notes on preserving the environment of the Mallorcan mountain region. Inside the museum you will find works of art, ancient pottery and ceramics, furniture, and other artifacts. Enter the ornately decorated church and you may be able to hear the boys’ choir, Els Blauets, which was founded in 1531 and holds concerts regularly--their album is available in the gift shop. There are several places to eat, as well as guest accommodations and campsites. Using our international travel planner, Lluc attractions like Santuari de Lluc can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • Such a beautiful and tranquil place. We enjoyed our three night stay here very much. Comfortable rooms with good showers and beds. The property has much historic charm and is surrounded by the mountains, with many different walking routes to take from there. The staff also friendly and helpful.
  • All good here. It's a beautiful, spiritual place that kind of gets a very touristic vibe now. We were there for 1 night on our GR221 hike. The dinner and breakfast for 24€ per person feels a bit overpriced. No clearly vegan options for dinner, but gluten-free stuff and plant-based milk at the breakfast buffet. Overall the food was okay, for dinner you get to choose one "first dish" and then a "second dish". The room we stayed in was small but tidy and clean, decent bathroom, no complaints :-)
  • Simple, reasonable accommodation as a base to hike around the area. Restaurant is old-fashioned and the food is fine. The botanic garden is full of weeds and needs some TLC but overall the whole place has a lovely charm about it.
  • Visited only the church and church grounds - beautiful setting and building, very peaceful. If you can, climb up to the cross, the views across the island are amazing.
  • The road leading up to the Santuari, the Santuari itself, it’s an amazing setting and the prices for the rooms are very affordable. The rooms are basic but that has its charm. Beautiful hiking in the area. I didn’t eat there, the Google reviews for the restaurants are pretty bad, but there are some restaurants to explore within a 20-25 min drive. WiFi is not so good, so I wouldn’t recommend it for remote work.
