  • Hiked here from Platja Formentor. Cala Murta is on the small side. No facilities - so pack out whatever you bring in. Area available for swimming is quite small.

  • Exhilarating and strenuous walk from the stone steps beside the Rocoso tunnel, on the road towards the lighthouse at Far De Formentor, had me loose track and unintentionally arriving at the donkeys stables. There they were, goats as well, just languishing in their secret setting. Never saw the beach. I was worried that I was on private land and tip-toed the hell out of there for fear of being reprimanded for trespassing. Take note. Do not use the steps at Rocoso tunnel. So dangerous and unnecessary?
  • Beautiful, aqua marine sea. Gentle sloped, quiet walk down to the very small cove through shaded pine tree forest. There were only a dozen or so people on the beach when I visited. (Taking the 344 bus from Port Pollenca as cars aren't allowed past Formentor beach during the day after 10am) Definitely worth a visit. Take your own food & drink etc as it's just nature's beauty there.
  • One of the “hiden” places on the island maybe because you have to walk :). This is only option how to get here or with the boat. The Best way is the bus from Beach Formentor
  • Beautiful clear water. On the way to the beach you might meet some donkeys ◡̈
  • The main road leading to the starting point of the small hike down to the beach is closed between 10am and 7pm but there is a bus line commuting every 20-30mins between the parking (15€/day) and the Formentor lighthouse. The hike itself is nice and takes about 25mins down to the beach. The beach is rocky, swimming shoes is a must. There is a hiking possibility on both side of the beach with great views. No shops or bars, go prepared.
