Create an itinerary including Plaza Mayor
Segovia's main square, Plaza Mayor, serves up a collection of fine buildings, cafes, and arcades. The cathedral and town hall border the plaza and the city's oldest tavern, La Taberna Rubi, established in 1861, sits just off the square's northwest corner. The plaza provides an ideal setting for munching on tapas and watching the people go by. For Plaza Mayor and beyond, use our Segovia itinerary maker tool to get the most from your Segovia vacation.

  • All roads seemed to end up in Plaza Mayor, a lovely square with restaurants dotted around the edges, and a bandstand in the middle. Well worth the visit.

  • Today the street vendors were there, (Thursday and Saturday) really crowded. Otherwise, next to the Cathedral and the City Town hall, open space and trees arround it,

  • Worth the walk from the aqueduct to get here, there is a hill so be prepared. Lots of places to sit and people watch, really worth it.

  • A beautiful place to visit day or night. Many restaurants to sit and enjoy the view of the Cathedral(which offers guided tours). Some places can be slightly pricey due to the location. But I would definitely recommend even just going for some pictures. Take note that there is a 6 person per table restriction right now due to COVID-19.
  • Cathedral was closed when we visited, around 6 pm. Many restaurants around that place unfortunately Spanish habits of having dinner after 9 pm did not allow us to eat there as we were tired and dine usually around 7 pm
  • Such a great square with lots to see and more lent of options to pick from to eat and drink, my favs were the Squid sandwich
  • The main or best known public square in Segovia is much like the Plaza Mayor of major cities in Spain. Arranged around the square are lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. The Cathedral of Segovia is also here and the only slightly unusual thing about this plaza is that it has an old style bandstand. Worth a stop for food.
  • Plaza Mayor is simply like any other plaza in Spain with popular square with restaurant with outdoor seating all around however unique perspective of Cathedral is unmatched.
