Create an itinerary including Cartoixa de Valldemossa
Built originally as a royal residence Cartoixa de Valldemossa was converted into a monastery in 1399 and is now a museum. The monks left in 1835 as a result of a national decree authorizing the Spanish government to take over religious properties. The main church of this well-preserved monastery is still in use. You can tour the church, some of the monks’ former living quarters, library, dining room, old pharmacy, and garden. • For your 10 euro ticket, you get a lot in return. A fifteen minute Chopin piano recital (starts every half hour), the rooms of the royal palace, the rooms of the 14th century Carthusian monastery, the city museum, an art gallery, the cloister church, and the medical pharmacy. Visiting time 30min to 2h.
  • King's palace in a cute little village of Valdemossa. Unfortunately due to lack of time I haven't been inside the palace and the monastery but if you do, it offers a 15 mins piano concert for free. Also try the very famous 'potato cake' sold in almost all cafes in valdemossa😊
  • Valldemossa is almost certainly the most beautiful and representative village in Mallorca. It is the jewel in the crown of the Sierra de Tramuntana, nothing more and nothing less than a UNESCO heritage site. Walking through its streets, especially in winter, makes you feel an inexplicable aura fruit of the millenary antiquity of the area and the scent of the mountains. It seems that someone had painted every corner, every house and every terrace as if they were the scenes of a fantasy story. Sometimes it is even considered the most beautiful village in Spain and one of the most captivating in Europe.
  • Nice museum overall but the start of the visit can be a little deceptive: very little information in the first rooms. After that, it gets better and the views from the rooms and items shown are interesting. Bonus point for the piano recital and the very welcoming staff.
  • Wunderschöne! If you take the bus, you pay by CCard: you touch the CC scan on the automat by driver. You have done half Job. Befire you go out you scan again by the exite door the CCard. If you forget as I forgot first you will be very angry. Second you will become big bill !!😀
