Playa de Itzurun, Zumaia

An amazing beach with unique geological formations that lets you see the individual layers of the adjacent cliffs. Not crowded at all when I visited in late March. A few surfers and some people with doggos. Fantastic views and landscapes.

It's a lovely beach with nice hiking routes around. If you want to get here, it's better to park in the free parking called "Parking Zumaia" which is on the dock yard where the boats/ships are docked. It's a 15 mins walk from the parking spot to the beach. It's hard to drive up close to the beach as there are no public parking spots and most are one way streets.

I was expecting a throwaway Game of Thrones tourist site, but the views and the beauty of the beach is spectacular. Parking is a little complicated unless you are just there for a couple of photos.

We came here because of Game of Thrones episode 1 season 7th, very beautiful beach and also nice caves around in which you can walk in and explore inside, if you want free parking near to beach you need to pass through mark no entry only for hotel visitors, but than it's very easy to find free place and to beach you will walk maximum 5 minutes.

An absolute lovely sight with all the cliff area. I only found out after that it is a Game of Thrones sight. It‘s an attraction for everyone and not just GoT fans. Hang out a little, watch the surfers and breathe in the ocean breeze... 👌🏼
