Gothenburg Botanical Garden
One of Europe's top botanical gardens, Gothenburg Botanical Garden includes a renowned rock garden. This oasis of plant life was inaugurated in 1923 during the city of Gothenburg's 300th anniversary. At about 175 hectares (430 acres), it is one of the largest gardens on the continent and makes up much of Anggarden, a Swedish nature reserve with an arboretum. View 16,000 species of plants presented in diverse exhibitions throughout the site, such as the Japanese garden and rhododendron valley. Take a guided tour with the app ”Botaniska" for a more interactive journey through a world of biodiversity and beauty. Lovely little restaurant here in the botanical guarden. A bit pricey though, so keep that in mind. However, you are of course paying for more than just the food. It is a lovely experience to be able to sit outside in such an environment. Furthermore, the food was also very tasty with generous portions. Lovely staff as well!

One of the best botanical gardens I must say. It's very vast and peaceful. Have hundreds of plant varieties from different countries. Also this place is hardly crowded at any season so one can have ample amount of time exploring the garden. Toilets are installed at the entrance gate which are easy t access.

One of the gems of Göteborg. Rarely is this place overly crowded which makes it the perfect place to escape to. The gardens themselves are beautiful and the whole place has a relaxing and calm vibe. Tip: check out the viewing spot towards the back of the gardens. It's a little bit of a climb but it will give you phenomenal views over the west of the city. Tip #2: Combine your visit with a trip to Slottskogen across the road. Especially if you have kids, as you can take them to the petting zoo and playground. Making this double combo a very cheap but memorable day out.

Perfect stay for family, singles, seniors, etc. When you come through the gate you find the toilets on the right side and the information and shop on the left. In the shop you can buy ice cream (this is a first stop for parents with kids). The garden ist full with lovely flowers and interesting and rare trees, like the japanese cake tree. You can take your time and take the best walk of your life there. The air smells unbelievably good - even my kids were surprised. There are a lot of areas to rest and eat. A small restaurant is also in the garden (there are toilets too).
-
Largest botanical garden in the Nordic countries I believe, with thousands of pant species if not millions, I am not much into botany I would have listed some of the plants I saw, sometimes the mouth can’t explain what the eyes have seen, why not go there and check it for yourself, definitely worth visiting…see you there 😉
