Experience the frontlines for yourself at Army Museum, which features life-size models of uniforms and weapons. The building housing the museum was built in the 17th century to produce and store artillery weapons. Explore the three floors of exhibits, where you'll learn about mercenaries, crime and punishment, and animals in war. The site depicts Swedish history from the 16th century onwards, including the modern state of neutrality, and includes an impressive collection of artifacts amassed by Swedish soldiers during war, such as flags, banners, and musical instruments. The onsite library features texts on uniforms, weapons, and conscription. Take a guided tour or use an audio headset. We were walking by on a cold snowy day, a little lost. We decided to check out the museum. It was free. They exhibits were so well done/creative. We spent over 2 hours. Excellent time.

Reasonable military museum, for me the interesting thing about this museum is the explanation of Swedish history which I know very little about.

Good surprise! Liked this museum a lot, it doesn't show only old weapons but explains the military history of Sweden. The exhibition is really nice to see, with wax figures of important or ordinary moments of military history.

Well made representations of historical events with clear clarifying text panels. Interesting as foreigner to learn from it. Best was the top floor. The other floors, being a bit closer to today’s time, felt a bit less structured on the time line. Even free entrance so definitely worth a visit.

It's an awesome place very underrated and it's huge. A must visit for people who love history and arms used by seeds from 17th to 21st century. Admission is free for everyone. Your will have to spend at least 2 hrs to go though completely, it might take longer for history buffs.
-
Beautiful museum, with the standard exposition covering a great range of physical artifacts, human vignettes and political/historical context. The temporary expo on spycraft during WWII and the contributions of women to it was deeply engaging as well.
-
Very well done. Large, with great narrative and historical information, spanning the era's. Take enough time to see everything, 1.5h+
