Create an itinerary including Iglesia Alemana
While strolling through the city's Old Town, stop by Iglesia Alemana and admire the impressive architecture and collection of religious ornaments. The church is dedicated to Saint Gertrude, the protector of the guild of German merchants. The guild's headquarters was transformed into a church in the 18th century. From its 86 m (282 ft) steeple adorned with gargoyles, to the Baroque interior and large stained-glass windows, the structure is an architectural masterpiece. The church has a long history as one of Sweden's foremost centers of religious music. Today many organ concerts are organized here, and the site is famous for choir singing and melodic bells. Admission to the church is free. Work out when and for how long to visit Iglesia Alemana and other Stockholm attractions using our handy Stockholm trip tool.

  • I took long walks through the narrow streets of the Atlas neighborhood and found this beautiful church. Walked in and was amazed by its architecture inside. The interior is not really that big and the way the seats are positioned make it a very unique church. The pipe organs look like they are made out of gold. Very pristine interior. In the back of the church, there is a little wooded area for people to sit in a shade. I loved every minute of this tour.
  • Entrance is free. It has a beautiful garden, stained glass and organ.
  • Simple and small cathedral relatively to other cities in Europe but with very interesting stories. The audio guide
  • A peaceful church with perfect architecture located close to the Nobel museum. The entrance is free but you can donate by buying candles or through donation boxes. Payment can be made by card or cash which is very practical.
  • Beautiful, sacred and peaceful Entrance fee is only 30 Swedish krona (3 euros) Sitting on a church bench, enjoying this tranquility and lofty moment
