Dominated by the king's castle, Stockholm Old Town brings together the historical and tourist centers of the city. Founded in the 13th century, this quarter makes up the original settlement of Stockholm and is home to notable architecture, mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries. Stroll down this medieval neighborhood's cobbled streets that feature colorful building facades, as well as north German-style squares. You can tour the royal castle on the north side of the district, which was built in 1754 by architect Nicodemus Tessin. Nice area to walk around, to get coffee or Ice cream. Shame a lot of the restaurants shut at 9pm/10pm as sometimes we like to eat late. Would be nice if more restaurants had more of a vegetarian and.... more
