  • Visited the museum today and it was amazing. I've always heard that he's had a small apartment in Bern while studying at the University and I've finally got to visit it. The museum manages to offer insights into his life, love and family. You can visit the museum for CHF6 and you can get the entrance tickets at the door without having to book in advance.
  • We had the Swiss Travel Pass and it was 50% off. We were in Old Town and way back to our hotel. The museum only took cash so we had to go to an ATM. Luckily, we made it just before they closed. Einstein really didn’t live here very long and the display is small. If we were constraint with time, we would have not bothered.
  • As the name suggests, Albert Einstein used to live here for a brief moment before he became famous. There are only two floors you can visit, one floor is preserved with furnitures while the other consists of information board detailing his life. The museum is mostly focused on his family and if you want more information about his impact and work, you'll need to visit the Bern Museum. Personally it gave me a brief insight into his life, though the museum was slightly underwhelming. Entrance fee is 6 Francs but you'll get a slight discount with Swiss Travel Pass. There's also a cafe downstairs the museum that is more interesting I feel.
  • Albert Einstein moved from Zurich to Berlin in 1914 and lived there until 1932, he rented the flat on the second floor from 1903 to 1905. It has been restored in the style of that period to reflect Einstein's crucial years in Bern. I didn’t have a chance to visit his flat but used the coffee shop instead;)
  • A visit here helps you time travel back to 1900's. Imagine Einstein's life walking up the stairs and into his little flat. Good to help kindle this thought, helped by a timeline of facts and events listed on a floor above. We visited during weekdays, hardly any wait. Not expensive and child friendly. Wheelchairs are not possible unfortunately.
