Naturzentrum Thurauen, Flaach

This camping location has me torn. On one hand it had one of the best swimming pools I have been to in a long time - high dive, spring board, great slide - awesome pool! Also, it was really close to the river Rhine which was wonderful to swim in. However, the camp sight itself was awful. It was very, very stoney (see pictures), we couldn't park the car next to the tent, and the power location was a bit of a stretch. But other that sleeping on a gravel bed, the rest of the facilities were good and clean. Maybe we were just unlucky with the tent location we were given, but that made for an incredibly bad stay when trying to do anything in the tent (like walking, standing, sleeping, changing, etc.)

Is in the nature very nice to walk around. The Zentrum tells you about how it was built, animals and flora that are in the region. I would say in summer/early fall there is much more to see, I went a bit too late. Perfect for kids. Restaurant is very good, good service good food, only that they charge for tap water, which I did not know, and find it shameful to do so.

Nice place to visit with children. Especially summer because you can also spent time on the swimming pool next to the object therefore it is nice activity for a whole day!

Great place to experience nature. Lots of fish in clear water

Very nice place to spend the day exploring the Forrest or have a dip in the pool.
