A standout among the city's modern landmarks, the monumental The Geneva Water Fountain has served as one of the city's crowning symbols for over six decades. One of the largest fountains in the world, the structure pumps about 500 l (130 gal) of water each second, its misty plumes reaching a height of over 140 m (450 ft). Most sightseers choose to appreciate the structure from a distance, but if you do not mind a little spray on your clothes, you can inspect it at close range by standing on a pier, accessible from the left bank of the lake. Easily accessed on the lake, it's a really impressive thing (moreso as you get closer to it!) and certainly worth taking the time to do so.

A big fountain in the middle of the lake. You can walk close to it. When we went there, the wind was in our favor, so we didn't get wet. It is beautiful and good to take photos.

What is this thing... I don't understand why this hideous thing has 4 stars... No need to make a detour. In short, it's not to be seen but it's a landmark if the tourists get lost...

This is the famous fountain that is such an icon for Geneva. Granted that it in itself is not special but for some reason it is a very scenic water feature. It is turned off at night so very environmentally conscious! You cannot miss seeing this feature from any part of the lakeshore/lakeside areas but some spots allow for better picture taking capabilities.

We really liked Geneva. I wish we had more time to visit. We had a lovely day around the lake and fountain. The city is very clean and organized. Parking is plentiful just follow the signs. They even tell you how many spots are available in each area.

The iconic jet d'eau can be seen from the sky as you're flying in or out of Geneva and can be seen from France if you have a good line of sight. Sometimes at night they light it up in recognition of special days like cancer awareness. You can walk up near to it but beware of getting sprayed if the wind changes. There's plenty of seating on the walkway towards the jet.

A Geneva landmark that should definitely be visited. The fountain shoots the water up to 140 meters high and provides a nice cool down in summer :) So definitely take a rain jacket or rain jacket with you when you approach the fountain. On the platform there are loungers that invite you to relax. When the sun is shining you can see very beautiful rainbows. A small entrance with white sand and crystal clear water makes you think you are in a tropical paradise (Check photos and videos)

Wonderful place to be on sunny days. The fountain is beautiful. There is a beach side on the lake which is even more vibrant with plenty of shops to eat. Lots of parking nearby. Souvenir and other shops are plenty. The whole area is nice with some beautiful parks around. You can spend a whole day in here with the kids. There are lots boat hire tours from the lake.
