The Kronberg is a mountain of the Appenzell Alps, located west of Appenzell in the Swiss canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden. Its 1,663-metre-high (5,456 ft) summit can be accessed by cable car.

The Kronberg is an easily ascendable mountain and a popular excursion destination, and can also be hiked well on signposted snowshoe tours in winter. Valley station operates since June 28, 1999

Very enjoyable trip to Kronberg mountain by cable car, stunning views, just great. We also had lunch at the restaurant. Very good food, ver pleasant and friendly service, a very happy day!

One of the most beautiful hikes you can do, with a spectacular view from the top of the Kronberg mountain. The downhill hike takes about 2-3 hours back to Jakobsbad station. It's a nice hike amd can also be done with kids (6+).

Had a most beautiful ride in the Schwebebahn Gondola to the top of the mountain where one can see the alps as far as the eye can see in good weather. The are many hiking paths of various degrees of difficulties, across the meadows, up and down the slopes, and along the rocky ridges. The Kronberg peak is a well known place for paragliders to take off from, and if you are lucky, you can watch them taking off from one of the slopes. The restaurant offers wonderful food and drinks and has a most friendly staff. The specialty of the house dessert, a type of pear purée with egg cream cake, was absolutely delicious. Do visit.

One of the preferred destinations during the late autum foggy days, in the lower areas. Well maintained walk ways, althouh sturdy shoes are required. The view is worth the walk!
