Create an itinerary including The Nine Towers
Explore the town's medieval defenses on your visit to The Nine Towers. One of the towers houses the oldest city clock, built by Hans Luter in 1535--it's allowed to chime every hour exactly one minute before all the city clocks. Four of the towers are open to the public, and you can climb the steep and narrow staircases in two of them to reach panoramic views of the surrounding city. Check the website, or call ahead for opening and closing hours prior to your visit. To visit The Nine Towers on your trip to Lucerne, use our Lucerne trip itinerary tool.
