Protected by low mountain ranges, the glacial Lake Lugano features its own Mediterranean microclimate, warm enough to encourage the growth of citrus and palm trees. The lake sits on the border between northern Italy and southern Switzerland, an area rich in diverse plant life and fossils from prehistoric times. Lugano, a Swiss resort town with a decidedly Italian flavor, serves as a convenient base for sightseeing tours of the mountain-rimmed lake region. Get to know the area quickly by joining a guided boat ride along the lake's picturesque shores, or take the funicular to one of the surrounding mountaintops. Amazing place, romantic, quite, smell of nature, and much much more. I visited lake lugano from como. It was one full day trip to como and lugano. In my opinion, each city needs couple of days and maybe more. The center of the city is bigger than como. People are friendly. The only thing that you need to have swiss Franc with you, since thier exchange rate is not fared. Also, you may suffer from mobile data service since they are not part of EU. As a conclusion, i will visited again and again

Lake Lugano is one of the nicest places in Switzerland. It's a city in southern Switzerland’s Italian-speaking Ticino region. Its Swiss-Mediterranean mix of cultures is closely related to that of Italy’s northern Lombardy region. This mix is reflected in its architecture and cuisine. The city stands on the northern shore of glacial Lake Lugano, surrounded by mountains. Its main square, Piazza della Riforma, is ringed with pastel-colored, neoclassical palazzi. I visited October 1st 2022 when the temperature was 10~15°c. I like it very much. You should visit the city when you are in Milan as it's only 75 min away by train from Milano Centrale station.

Be aware that this place will lead you to a small place, if you are looking for a public beach you must try to find a Lido place. But, it worth anyway. There is a restaurant with good wine and service. The viewing is stunning.
