Dedicated to an iconic music star and long-time resident of Montreux, Freddie Mercury Statue occupies a prominent position on the city's lakefront. Designed by Czech sculptor Irena Sedlecka, the monumental statue is almost 3 m (10 ft) tall, depicting the singer in one of his trademark stage poses. Unveiled in 1996 in the presence of Mercury's former bandmates, the statue remains one of the city's major tourist draws. Bring your camera and snap a photo or two with Freddie. .....of Freddie Mercury. Not a lot more to say really. Worth stopping for a pic I suppose if you are walking past. Don't go all the way to Switzerland just for this though!!

A great place to stop by if you are a lover of Queen. I am sure this place gets a lot of attention during his birthday, and also his final day. The man has made a huge impact on the world, and it can be seen by all this fans. Swing by the old studio to get a feel for how things were done back then. Located inside the casino now.

It's a statue alright! Interestingly enough, I was able to see it during a weekend celebration leading to his birthday, so many people were around. Unfortunately, the first and best set of pics (I took) were not backed up in my photos, so I had my husband text me one, and we went back to take some more. Nothing beat the evening shots I had the first time though.

On the foreshore with lots of photo opportunities on a good day. You will also find plenty of Queen memorabilia at the souvenir shop immediately across the road from the main square “Freddie Mercury statue” is located.

I love the Christmas market very much. Besides the Lac Leman with the extraordinary view, and the market provide the best atmosphere and let you feel happy. We used a SBB ticket which included the return trains, a cup of gluhwein with a beautiful mug, and a cake. When you bought the ticket you can go to the store beside the Ferris Wheel to redeem these gifts. A wonderful night

This is a spectacular corner, a corner of the heart. If you are a fan of our beloved Freddy Mercury. The Montreux riviera is wonderful and has a light that will never go out.
