Hidden within the Beyer retail store, Uhrenmuseum Beyer Zürich features an impressive collection of watches, clocks, and other objects related to timekeeping. A leading private museum in the field of horology, the museum houses remarkable pieces that have played significant roles in the history of watchmaking, such as an early marine chronometer by Ferdinant Berthoud, a pocket watch with astronomical indications by Auch, and a rare reproduction of the planetarium by De Dondi. Over a dozen delicate and rarely operated automata find their home in the museum, where film clips display them in full motion for visitors. Peruse the walls of the museum, adorned with unique clocks from many different points in history. A small museum dedicated to the history of telling of time. As I don't speak German I was given an iPad which was very easy to use explaining in English each exhibit. It covered ancient Egyptian methods to latest digital. Worth a visit.

Beyer Watch and Clock Museum is located on Zurich Bahnhof Strasse. It is very small but there are some interesting pieces like Sir Edmond Hillary 's Rolex Explorer, a vintage Rolex Daytona and some very old clocks. There is a very small entrence fee. I would advice a visit to the museum, about 30 to 60 minutes followed by a coffee session at the adjacent Sprungli.

Beautiful clocks and history. A little weird that it's in the basement and is only open 4 hours but definitely enjoyed myself. A small museum but if you like and appreciate clock's it's a must see
-
Nice museum. Despite it being small, one can easily spend 3+ hours here. The labels are in German and visitors are provided an iPad with English, French, etc. translations. The iPad also has videos with sound so you may want to bring wired earphones with jack/Lightning connectivity.

It was one experience that I won't forget. The story of chronometry! Fabulous! They also have magazines so you can read more (you will need a lot of time). The exhibits are very interesting and unique!
