National Museum of Taiwan History, Tainan

An absolutely beautiful museum bringing the very complex history of Taiwan to live, through life size and interactive installations, and carefully crafted dioramas, original material and reproductions. An absolutely must if you wanna learn more. Spend 3.5hr here, but wished I had come early to spend the full day.

Highly recommended for children and family! Visited here on weekend. Tickets: 100 NTD for adults, 50 NTD for student, children 6-12 y.o., elderly >65 y.o. You need to pay 120 NTD if you want an audio guide. However, you can just walk in with the ticket without that audio guide. You'll find sufficient written explanation on each exhibition. They have 3 floors inside. You can learn Taiwan history in a fun way. After the exhibition was closed (at 5 pm), we spent some time around the museum to enjoy the sunset and there were a lot of families had picnics. Such a nice place for families.

This museum illustrates taiwanese history in a very interactive fashion with multiple floors covering different eras and sides of our history. There are many of child friendly areas too, some which also teach history like a time train ride and manhua history section.

Friendly staff. Tickets are NT$100, and NT$150 with an English Audio device. Very interesting history of Taiwan experience. Something to do in the summertime. You could spend 2-3 hours there!

The museum had some interesting exhibits and overall very nice presentation. The only drawback was that the number of exhibits wasn’t huge but for the price certainly a good place to see.
