Dating back to the 1850s, Dihua Street today is popular among shoppers and foodies. This main avenue used to be called Centre Street and still contains historical architecture that is protected by the city. Explore this attraction, which has long been known as the center of Taiwanese commerce and sells products ranging from foods, herbs, and tea to Chinese fabrics and incense. • I really recommend this place for those who visit Taipei and also expat who stay in Taipei. The old street that was renovated , full of interesting shop mix between old style traditional style and contemporary with western. This place give you all the Taipei local shopping venue and in the same time you can experience variety of street foods. Must visit period is 1-2 weeks before Chinese new year.
  • A perfect place to get a flavour of a more traditional Taiwan in the middle of the busy modern city. Traditional shops mixed with food and cafés, becomes very lively around the Chinese New Year.
  • We went to this street a few weeks before Chinese New Year and boy was it packed with people. There were vendors along the streets selling snacks and candies for Chinese New Year. There were free tastes everywhere from candies to soups to drinks. During the day, a lot of coffee shops and tea rooms are open and they are located inside what seems to be old refurbished or reconstructed buildings. This street is a combination of modernity and heritage.
  • These will be the best street for you to shop all the things for your Chinese New Years, and together with all the nice decoration. For those who plan to purchase any of the products there must do a price comparison with another shop or do a discount with the shop owner.
  • Maybe bustling during Lunar Year but on a Wednesday nights at 8pm in November it was almost deserted. Nothing special Vs. other similar streets in the city. Not worth the MRT flare to get to this street.
