Create an itinerary including Taipei Confucius Temple
Inspired by a World Heritage-listed temple in China, Taipei Confucius Temple ranks as one of the capital's most important religious sites. Marvel at the traditional architectural style of the temple, featuring upward-swooping rooftops, support pillars, and wood-paneled doors and walls. Admire the building's colorful decorations, which include dragons and other carvings along the top and edges of the roof. Afterwards, wander the complex grounds to see ceramic reliefs and decorative panels scattered throughout. You'll find a number of English-language informational plaques and displays detailing the history the temple. • This temple is beautiful and I find temple designs around Asia very intriguing. Taiwanese temples are very colorful and full of elaborate designs. There is just so much to look at. There is a good amount of little things to read if you pay attention to all the small details, but looking at the temple is well worth the trip to check it out. I went extremely early, so there is no one even there, so I enjoyed it quite a bit. I recommend to those who are into temples and want to see more cultural things in the city.
  • Was a quiet Tuesday when I went. Slowly walked through the area. There are ink stamping stations at the chambers for kids to collect in their note pad. Felt the Confucius temple in Hanoi is more beautiful but this temple is more informative on Confucius and the Chinese calligraphy throughout the history.
  • Cute little temple for the globe trotter.
  • Superb temple with signage full of educational content. Included in the visit: multimedia including 3D video clips and calligraphy writing for free. Beautiful and peaceful.
  • Worth visiting if you are in Taipei as it's just a few MRT stops north on the Red line. The building stands on a rather large land and the ancient construction is so very intricate, with many halls dedicated to the various deities, if I may say so. Taiwanese honours Confucius very well indeed.
