Cueifong Lake Circular Trail, Nan'ao

Trail - 5 stars People - 0 stars A truly magical and spiritual experience. As human beings, we ought to be respectful and humbled by the riches that Mother Nature provides us. Its recent international recognition and celebration is well warranted. With that said... ...it is therefore extremely disappointing for me to say that the people we encountered were anything but respectful to the park and the environment. We encountered several tour groups along the way that had no compunction of responsibility and thought, instead just yapping away loudly about moronic topics. One lady I heard complained about the lack of "interesting sights" along the trail. 🤦🏻 I had to use every once of effort to prevent myself from (quietly) punching these idiots. And even though we had entered the "quiet" section of the trail, the occasional yelling over a speakerphone could be heard. Do you act like this when you visit a medieval cathedral on your European tour? How about a historical library? No? Then don't ruin this Taiwanese treasure! I propose the park authorities to 1) ban large tour groups (>6 people ❌); 2) ban the use of speakerphones 📢 starting from the parking lots (it's currently permitted up to the lake observation deck, but the sound travels up the mountain); and 3) fines 💰 for hikers talking loudly along the trail. It is extremely annoying to be soaking in the forest's meditative silence only to be suddenly interrupted by the punctuated yelling of a tour guide into a speakerphone because their tour group is too busy cackling in laughter. Do this ASAP before more tourists show up as a result of the recent media recognition, and ruin this holy place.

We visited there on the last day of the lunar new year. Its a good weather even cold on the mountains below 10 degree.but its beautiful there. The fog change by the wind. Make the lake with many kinds of performance. Hope we would visit there again in summer or autumn. To see the other view.

Amazing park! I love the forest it is like a dream when you walk the trail. The view was phenomenal. Taiwanese do a great job preserving the nature they have I really respect that. Very strict rules for following the trail. Only bad thing for me was that I couldn't see everything and a certain part of the park was closed because there was a really old woman living there or something like that. Anyway hope she is well Buddha bless her.

It is a great place to visit in Taiwan; however, it is not easy to reach via public transportation. The only resort nearby is extremely hard to reserved. It even does not have all day electric because they used only generator for certain time only. Due to only building with electric at night, there is no light pollution. Cueifong lake circular trail is easy for almost everyone. I recommend you stop by early morning to watch the sunrise at Xiangyangshan where is very close to this trial and walk this trail afterwards, and stop by again afternoon because you will see very different scenes between morning and afternoon. There are several view points where you can stand and wait. The foggy lake is very beautiful when it is covering and uncovering with cloud. There are parking space and clean restrooms at main entrance, you can also park at back entrance if you don’t want crowded.
