Rainbow Village Taichung, Taichung

This Rainbow village is a small place with walls and floors that are filled with very artistic drawings. There are some store inside that sell drinks and snacks, and also some souvenirs, most interesting souvenirs will be the umbrellas in my opinion but price are not cheap at 880, 980 and 1180 depending on the size. All this drawings are drawn by an old Army veteran who is now 97 years old, at the moment most drawing are maintained by the younger generation who volunteered at this place. Suggest a half an hour to 1 hour trip here. This place close at 6pm

The rainbow village is well connected to public transportation from MRT or the local train station. The rainbow village shows the hard work and dedication of the 96 years old men who want to show how beautiful life is by painting beautiful colors on the walls. The village has 7 to 8 huts painted with beautiful diverse colors on it. There are some activities for small kids and information centers about the village and the old men. There is a souvenir shop and restaurant inside it. The village is about half an hour your and the best place for colorful photos. There is bike and bicycle parking behind the rainbow village.

Very unique and beautiful small colorful village with a lovely history! 🌈💞 You can buy souvenirs at the shops, and eat a dessert while you're visiting the hidden paths. This is a very special place in Taichung, totally recommended! 👍You can see the whole area in one or two hours😉

A really cute place with a heartwarming backstory. One of the must visit spot in Taichung! A bit far from the middle of the city but accessible via bus and train, although I'd suggest to have a morning/afternoon visit, before 3 pm or so. If you're lucky, you can find the man behind the village and pay some respects to an incredible man!

Several old house that painted into rainbow doodle. Is not big as I imagine as village, but nice spot. You can buy special souvenir here (umbrella, postcard, totebag, t-shirt, notebook, snack, etc.)
