  • I enjoyed my visit on 5th of March 2023. The building looks majestic in a huge park that surround it. I didn't have enough time to walk around it unfortunately . My favourite will be the Natural...

  • A must go place in Tainan. Have really great sculptures when you arrived at the museum. When you are entering the museum, you will be stopped by the magnificent Greek Gods sculpture along the way...

  • This was our first stop in our Tainan sojourn. It makes such a wonderful start to the trip! Although described as European, the museum does have extensive Asian collections eg warrior suits, weapons.....  more

  • The Chimei museum is really quite beautiful. There is a lovely park and area outside of the museum to walk and relax and take pictures. You can but tickets to the permanent exhibition, the temporary exhibition or a combined ticket for both. Everything is clearly labeled and there is a mix of different things to see. There is Arms and Armour, Natural History and Fossils, a Rodin Gallery, Fine Arts and Musical instruments all in the permanent collection. Leading up to the museum outside there is a beautiful Apollo fountain and Olympus Bridge.
  • One of the best museum in Taiwan, yep Taiwan (not Tainan). Amazingly, it is privately owned (not owned by government). Beside the museum itself, the outside area is very big. You can take a graduation shot or bring your own lunchbox to camp there. I really suggest and recommend you to come here if you visit Tainan
  • Chimei is a beautiful museum which looks like it belongs in Washington, DC or somewhere in the outskirts of London from the standpoint of architectural style. With its setting in a large, gentile, landscaped park it is truly a grand facility. I spent most of my time viewing the extensive collection of rare stringed instruments, many of which are contained in its vault..not available to the public, but many more of which are on exhibit. The museum loans many of its instruments to prominent or promising Taiwanese musicians, greatly enhancing the country’s offerings in classical music performances. There is an Starbucks and a Seven Eleven housed within the museum, as well as an English tea room and an elaborate Italian restaurant offering pizzas and pastas.
  • A great museum. The exhibition targets of the museum are domestic people. For foreign tourists, Musical Instrument Hall and Arms and Armor Hall are highly recommended. The exhibitions in these two halls are of world-class. The mechanical music part of the collection is especially eye-catching. Some of them are rare treasures.
  • What an amazing museum, so much to see here . Animals, paintings, sculptures, an armoury ,and a really beautiful garden . Tickets are 200nt ,but if you're a Tainan resident it's free. There are restaurants, a 7/11,a Starbucks and a very reasonable gift shop. A great day for adults and kids. It's clear that the owner loves history. Everything is beautifully kept.
