Create an itinerary including Confucius Temple
A historical landmark of the Eastern philosophy and the first of its kind in Taiwan, Confucius Temple once acted as a central academy in the religion’s teachings. Opened in 1665 under the Koxinga dynasty, the elegant burnt sienna complex sits within a plush garden, with plenty of shady courtyards in which to relax. Make your way to the temple’s center, framed by two ceremonial gates leading to the Dacheng Hall and Hall of Edification, admiring Confucian calligraphy and tablets. Wander back to the central courtyard, where locals regularly practice Tai Chi underneath the Banyan trees, looking out over the sports field to a sea of colorful kites. • This is a serene and peaceful temple within a nice park where you can sit quietly and contemplate the atmosphere. There is a museum for you to browse in the temple grounds.

  • Peaceful attraction. The tower is an interesting climb. Entry fee for a section of the complex. Make sure to visit the small alley shops across the street.
  • Wow. We just know its a first school in taiwan.and people pray there cause its a Con-Fu-Ci temples there. The environment is nice there. My wife and me learn something there. We like it.
  • dignified, ancient, characteristic of small religion and Confucian culture. There is a bit of spirituality for scholars, students or academic pursuits. Well worth a visit and enjoy the traditional cultural, artistic and educational space.
  • A very nice place to take pictures, but also a great confucious temple to visit to pay your respects when I'm the area.
  • Love this place very much. Learned a lot of cultures stuff. I think it's a good place to bring kids so that they get to know more about historical and cultures.
