Hehuanshan East Peak Trail, Xiulin

Just lots and lots of stairs. Pretty manageable if you’re reasonably fit. Was here on 13 Dec and weather was bad, it was foggy so couldn’t see anything except grey at the top, would love to be back! Parking at the cafe 3158 and trailhead starts behind SongXue Lodge building.

Steep and straight trail from the trailhead. You can see lots of flowers and splendid view along the way. There are several small peak at the top, make sure you find the real peak To summit. The view at the top is awesome as you can see lots of 3000m peak around you

Very well-maintained trail, but also be prepared for very steep steps along the way. Caution to those who are beginner-level for high altitude hiking, you could find yourself short of breath. The views are fantastic though, and worth every bit of it.

This trail is pretty short, only 1052 meters long, but very very steep with countless steps all the way from the entrance at elev. 3150 to the top at 3421 meters above sea level. Still worth a try for all abilities just kids may not be interested, and seniors may need more time. East Peak Trail is considered the best place to see Alpine Rhododendrons in May. If you love hiking and have more than 2 hours in Hehuanshan, this trail will not disappoint you.

I think this is one of the best place for sunrise watching on the Hehuanshan. It would take about 90 minutes to get on the peak. The trail is a little bit hard coz there r all stairs but the view worth it .
