Sun Moon Lake, Yuchi

Fun place! We rented bikes and rode around half the lake before taking the ferry back to where we started. Some places along the route can get quite steep, but it balances out with the scenery and downhill slopes in between. Worth the trip!

Great one-day trip from Taichung. Recommend the day-pass, which includes all kinds of transport. Worth it!

Just visited this wonderful place today and I highly recommend this place to those people who are planning this coming weekend to relax and see the beautiful sceneries at the same time. Sun moon lake, the most gorgeous and peaceful place you should visit in Taiwan. It is in the foothills of Taiwan’s Central Mountain Range. It’s surrounded by forested peaks and has foot trails. East of the lake, the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village is a theme park with a section devoted to re-created indigenous villages. There’s a 33km path for a walk and cycling.

I visited this beautiful Lake back in Summer 2018, around July when I was a Asia University Short Program participant. I came here in the weekend, with my fellow friends. Because we stay in Taichung, we need to take a bus to Sun Moon Lake in the morning so when we got there, we still can explore the area. I remembered when I came out from the bus, we walk until the scenic area. Along the street, we enjoy the view and also take a quick bite in local street snack. Then we continue strollinga round, from the scenic are, to food market, and take a ferry and gondola to Formosan village. But sadly when we arrive at formosan village, the village was closed. so we just take a couple picture there, and go back around the lake and walk. But overall, I like this sun moon lake, we learnt a lot about Taiwan culture.
