Climb the 366 stairs at the Year of Steps staircase to Wenwu Temple. The site features three halls, one of which is dedicated to First Ancestor Kaiji and the God of Literature, the second one to the God of War, and the third one to Confucius. Inside the temple you will see a bronze statue of Confucius, which is the only one in Taiwan, as well as images of his disciples and two Chinese guardian lions in front of it, guarding the entrance. Large and very impressive. The view of the lake is phenomenal from the temple, as well as the temple itself looks spectacular. Worth a visit if you’re in Sun Moon Lake. There were small gift shops to buy some small traditional trinkets.

A very beautiful temple. Many intricate designs and well maintained. Went there during weekday and it is not very crowded. Try to time it during sunset for some beautiful photos. Opportunities to offer prayers too.

Super spectacular temple, it's super pretty and it's so big you can take up to 3 hours and not be able to see it all. I recommend going as early as possible since the place gets packed. At the end of the complex there's a green wall which is worth the climb, the view from the top is super cool! More pics at my IG: SharingTaiwan

Very beautiful Chinese temple. One of the most attractive place to visit when coming to Sun Moon Lake. Easy going by the Lake-round bus. There are three divided parts of temple with different decorations. Delicate sculptures. Nice view of the lake. There are many gods to make a wish for such as your love, life, family, and education. I suggest you to spend at least one hour to take a look of all spaces here.
