Create an itinerary including Lanta Animal Welfare
Lanta Animal Welfare is a nonprofit charity in southwest Thailand dedicated to improving the lives of animals and relieving their pain and suffering. It's a rescue and rehabilitation center that also runs sterilization and rabies vaccination mobile clinics on Koh Lanta and surrounding islands and regions. It receives no government support and relies on private donations from people around the world. Visit the center and take dogs for walks along the picturesque beach, or cuddle with cats in a fun, safe environment. These animals lived hard lives before they were rescued, and love to meet people and receive affection. If you find a new best friend you simply cannot part with, look into the rehoming program for these animals who deserve a loving home after all they've been through. Klarna Trips's itinerary builder makes planning a Ko Lanta trip simple and quick.

  • This is a great behind the scenes look at the excellent work done here. Guided by volunteers who are eager to answer questions. Opportunities to meet some of the animals.

  • This place is doing important work. I recommend to visit and see it your self. Their operation is depending of the donations, so everyone who has some extra money, or even some extra clothes / linens to spare should consider donating. Place seems quite popular for for tourists and locals, so best to book a tour in advance and be on time when the tour starts. You get to pet the cats and dogs, hear some stories why and how people are working there. In one hand it is bit sad to hear the tragic stories, but on the other hand there are so many heart worming happy ends. These guys are heroes and they don't get the appreciation that they would deserve
  • The work they are doing are essential and amazing to the surrounding area. If you're in Koh Lanta, you have to visit and see all the lovely cats and dogs. 200baht per person and they currently only run 1 tour a day at 10:45 due to covid.
  • Worth a visit to support these animals! 200 Baht donation for the daily tour. They also have a gift shop where your money goes straight to the care of the animals. They really care for them. Many of them were abandoned, surrendered or found hurt by motor accidents or people (disgusting humans!!) They try their best to educate the public that animals need love and are not "dirty" which is what many people believe. They perform surgeries, neutering and spaying, give all the animals the shots they need. They are the reason why there are so many happy & healthy animals on Ko Lanta. They also need volunteers. Since Covid they don’t have as many so if you can spare the time, please reach out to help volunteer during your stay here! They are doing hard work and need all the support! ♥️♥️🙏🙏🐱🐶
  • Great experience with truly passionate people who love to take care of animals and improve animal welfare around the Koh Lanta island and nearby locations as well. They take really good care including medical and psychological help for animals and give chance to take tour of the facilities so you can see first-hand how it all looks like back stage. Juni had so much courage to take steps that created Lanta Animal Welfare and took it to where it is now which is just amazing place carrying help and goodness. You can visit and see for yourself and maybe come back with another member of family
  • They are doing a fantastic job treating & sterilizing stray cats and dogs on the island as well as educating the island on better animal care and also have a great and easy adoption program. They do daily tours at 10:45am (donation fee of 200 baht) and it was a fantastic time! They walked us through the whole facility and showed us the different parts of the center, let us learn in detail about animals who were treated and adopted here and interact with animals there now. They are doing really amazing work. The founder also founded a cooking school called Time for Lime in which profits are used to sponsor the animal shelter. There is also a volunteer program as well. Looks like they have made a huge positive impact the years they have been here. Super recommend as a place to visit 😊 They were hit hard by Covid so make sure to stop by and support if you can!
