Witness the delicately modeled beauty of the world's largest gold seated Buddha at Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit). Many of Asia's golden statues were once covered in plaster and stucco to disguise them from invading armies during times of conflict. The discovery of this magnificent golden Buddha was accidental: a team of people moving the object dropped it, its plaster casing cracked, and the golden figure shone out after many years in hiding. Visit the established Bangkok temple complex to admire the Buddha's clear, crisp form and learn of its fascinating origins. Work out when and for how long to visit Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit) and other Bangkok attractions using our handy Bangkok trip planner.

A very impressive temple that features the famous Golden Buddha. Purchase a ticket in the stall found just to the left of the temple, then climb the stairs to the top. You’ll be asked to remove your shoes before entering. The interior is ornate and it really is impressive. Photos are allowed but they ask you to refrain from taking any videos. The view over Chinatown is also impressive. After visiting this temple, you can wander the alleyways of Chinatown for hours. Great destination!

I came across this place when I took the bus tour offered by Thailand. The temple is very well built with a huge Buddha statue made of gold. You can sit in the temple and enjoy the calm which would be a good break from the busy city life outside. Definitely opt to go to this place if you are taking the bus tour.

One of the most popular temple in Bangkok. There is a big gold Buddha statue. The structure of the temple is beautiful. This temple is located near Chinatown Bangkok. Please be reminded that do not wear short pants into the temple. The entrance fee is 40 baht.

The historical events behind this temple are very interesting. This has to be one of the must-go places because of its cultural significance. It's a beautiful place with neat architecture, and the serenity surrounding the place, and to understand the strength of the people's beliefs behind it.
-
A total tourist destination. It was crowded and jam packed but the outer court was breathable. It's a beautiful place, the history and the stone models are mind blowing. The place and location is well maintained and beautifully kept.
