Awesome. Definitely an unique experience in Thailand. I recommend it anyone to do it but make sure you go to the one they don’t mistreat the elephant. This place really care for the elephants. The caregiver show a lot knowledge and care for the elephants. We don’t enjoy too much bathing with the elephant because is like a pond instead of running water. Other than that is a excellent experience.

What a wonderful experience! My friends and I attended for a half day at camp 4. The day starts with you getting picked up from your hotel in their songthaew, which takes just over an hour to get there. When choosing a sanctuary, I was conscious about the welfare of the elephants, but my mind was put at ease when I saw how happy they looked and how well cared for they were at this one. They're also allowed to roam around on their own, get a good feeding and regular vet checks. Every element of the day was fun and educational. The food provided was also very good. I would definitely go again!

We did the half dag morning visit to camp 1. Pick up was on time at 06:30am from our hotel. As other reviews wrote, you get picked up by a truck. Not super comfortable but manageable (and there is a 15min stop in the middle to grab a coffee). Great staff at the sanctuary. Amazing to be so close to the elephants and play with them. Also a lunch was provided! Overall we had a great experience!! We think half a day is enough.

An experience NOT to be missed while in Chiang Mai!!! My husband and I were so delighted with our half day tour among the Karen People who obviously have devoted their lives to caring for these majestic elephants in their sanctuary. We feel the cost is nominal for what's included! They you pick up & drop off at your hotel, provide you with water and an amazing meal (not just a snack) and plenty of interaction and photo opportunities with the elephants. There are toilets, clean water and showers on site, so no worries if you do the mud bath. You can participate or just watch and admire. The guides have a great sense of humour and wonderful disposition. It's a nice, laid back atmosphere. They explained a little how they care for the elephants and we participated in making their special meal to keep them healthy. These impressive creatures are very well taken care of here, it gives us a good feeling to know that someone is looking out for the abused and mistreated elephants. Don't hesitate to book a tour with any platform to this sanctuary. The cost you pay for your experience directly benefits the animals.
