Boom Klompen & Borstels, Alkmaar

Bought so many lovely things here. There is a wode variety of goods for sale. The range is from clogs, brushes, brooms, houshold necessities such as wooden spoons to the cutest trinkets and overalls for children. A tourist place to visit if you are ever in Alkmaar. A truly old fashioned store that gives handwritten receipts.

Probably one of my favourite all time shops. I just wish I had more room in my life, for really useful objects like string, mops, cleaning products, plungers, winter socks etc. A brilliant traditional hardware store.

What a lovely experience. Took me back to my youth, before supermarkets and shopping malls. had a nice chat with the owner. Everyone in the store is so friendly, helpful and welcoming. A visit to this store is a must if you are young or old. Thank you for sustaining the store.

Just came here to get something nice before I leave Holland, and what make me surprised is that the stuff inside are really cheap and beautiful! I got one klomp and a magnet. Also the store owner is so kindly that she not only explain how they use klomp but also offer us a free toilet, I really have a nice experience there. #LocalGuides

Of a bygone era with a customer service that multinationals could only dream of. Independent, family run and fabulous. It holds all sorts of things that you had forgotten you needed and many more besides.
