  • The visit can take 2 hours. A bit difficult to reach then you have to walk from Central Station there for about 30 minutes. The boat outside is not beautiful because it is not real or really old...

  • It was an enjoyable tour. They had some interesting displays in the wings of the museum. Make sure you also visit & walk about the boat that is on display. We also had some food at the little cafe...

  • This possibly turned into one of my favorite visits. So much history but told in an intriguing way and such a huge great collection. I personally loved the room of all the model boats, the ship outside and the tale of the whale, but everything was great. The audio tour was a nice addition as well but didn't seem to always work, got some great souvenirs here.
  • We spent a very pleasant afternoon in the Maritime museum. The displays were good, the cafe nice but the best bit was wandering the replica large trading ship. You can access most spaces on the ship and get a feel for the size quarters and conditions. Well worth a visit.
  • We enjoyed the architecture, the life-sized replica of the sailing boats, the art the general feeling of being in one of the most amazing maritime nations ever to have existed on Earth. The locker rooms were great. A little surprising to find them under ground and so very modern.
  • Beautiful gallery spaces all well curated and accessible by tram and bus from city. At time of visit there were exhibitions relating to a very wide variety of ages and interests. Lovely eating area inside. Externally access to a full size replica East India Company ship plus The Royal Barge.
  • Nice museum in Amsterdam central. It's a kids friendly museum with free entrance to museum card. A 15min walk from central. The main attraction is the ship on back side. You can get on and explore all the parts. Definitely recommend if you are curious about dutch maritime history.
