Standing for nearly eight centuries, Old Church represents the oldest building in Delft, whose leaning tower is one of the city's major symbols. Located in the old city center, the Gothic church nicknamed "Old John" sits on the site of a much older wooden structure, likely founded around 1050. Approximately 400 of Delft's famous citizens lie entombed inside, including painter Johannes Vermeer and physicist Antonie van Leeuwenhoek. Other notable features include three pipe organs and a 16th-century bell that produces such powerful vibrations that bell-ringers only sound it for burials of Dutch royal family members and natural disasters. • It costs €8 to visit both this and the New Church - totally worthwhile! There’s a handout in many languages on both churches included with your admission and between that and the signage...

  • The oldest church in Delft with much history. Tickers are currently 5.50 euro for adults. We enjoyed the visit and think it's worth viewing inside. Images on Trip Advisor will provide a taste of...

  • The church is really beautiful and has lots of interesting history around. They were doing an exhibit about WWII when we were there. Definitely worth a look as the cost of the ticket (€5.50) covers...

  • Very reasonably priced with €10 to do the new and old church and tower in new church. When we arrived there was the organ playing, not just classical music but queen bohemian rhapsody! Lots of info inside
  • Well.. well.. look what we have here, my favourite city on Earth: Delft. A huge beautiful old church you can see from many places in this cozy "gezellig" city. The water is clean, it reflects the church's view and creates a glamorous, awe-inspiring scene!
  • Definitely worth visit. It’s beautiful! Nice and quiet. Johannes Vermeer was buried here. If you like Vermeer, you have to visit his home town.
  • Beautiful architecture and pipe organ. One price gets you into the Old and New Church. We went to both and had a cheerful welcome both places.
  • A lot to learn! It was freezing cold inside the church but I guess it was built before HVAC so I’ll give it a pass. I LOVED the display pictured in my review. So helpful to understand the place the church has had in Delft for literally 1000 years.
