Stroll through two centuries of historical exhibits at Teylers Museum. Opened in 1784, the museum is the oldest in the country, and has changed little since the late 19th century. Explore the cultural history exhibits, which include fossils and minerals, as well as scientific instruments, coins, and encyclopedia collections. Admire the Oval Room, the oldest section and an excellent example of neo-classical architecture. If you'd lke to get a deeper understanding of the exhibits, pick up an audio guide at the start of your visit. A visit to Teylers Museum represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Haarlem trip itinerary builder website to plot your vacation.

helped by a mesmerizing Hockney film on a Chinese scroll, this is a treasure trove stuck in time. Ideal for physicists who can discover the old experimental apparatus.

Always wanted to visit here but somehow never made it till today ! Such a pleasent experience. The museum was not crowded , and hence it was nice to take time and look around. The museum is a mix of art, science and history and is really nice to read through the information available about the pieces on display. We saw this on open Monument Day and definitely liked it. My kids enjoyed the science bit , watching the fossils was being part of history. Definite must visit once 👍

This is the oldest museum in The Netherlands which never closed the doors since opening. The collection starts with rocks and bones than continued with experimentation instruments and machines. Gorgeous Oval room and library. Than you can discover gorgeous houses with rich interiors. And it’s still not all. There are 2 art galleries. This is the only museum in The Netherlands which owns Michelangelo’s 26 paintings. Highly recommended

This is a beautiful museum! There is lots to see and it’s very interesting. It’s wheelchair accessible but sadly you can’t go everywhere in the museum. The displays are a bit to high for someone sitting in a wheelchair and you really have to stretch yourself to see lots of things. But overall it’s a great museum!

I haven't been to a museum in a long time... This was a really great way to get back into it :) the museum itself seems to be maintained really well, and the layout is interesting. I loved the fossils the most - always interesting and very informative:) 90mins well spent!

A lovely museum to wander in when in Haarlem with a mix of art, science and history - felt like a place with something for everyone as long as they are curious. Also gives you access to Teylers house, which is quite interesting as well. We found it quite busy due to a temporary exhibition that was pretty popular, so good to check in advance.
