Museum van de Twintigste Eeuw, Hoorn

Nice museum that will bring you back to memory lane. Kids will love it also. It will take around 2 hours to visit. There is a small cafe inside and many restaurants in the area. The parking is a bit far (approx 10min walk) but they also have free shuttles.

One word: Awesome! A must see if you are in Hoorn, this is going back in time and finding stuff that is familiar from your youth! Bring time to explore this fabulous museum!

Nice well taken care of museum. People were really nice to assist us with a weelchair so my grandpa could take the whole tour. The museum has loads of fun and interesting exhibitions with interesting facts and a free audio tour.

For people who are old enough it will be a trip down memory lane. For younger people history will come to life. Looking back to the 20th century (emphasis on second half, after WW II), this period is presented in a series of rooms, furnished in the styles of the decades: sober forties and fifties and the colourful sixties and seventies. A lot of information about events, news and way of living. Also rebuilt shops from the old days. The depot is open, so all kinds of objects including toys and devices are visible, with information added.
