    Visited the statue when we were passing by on a cycling trip. Since there is a nice story attached to the statue we had to stop to make some pictures.

    It is fun to go to this place, it has a lot of history and the 'Elfstedentocht' comes by this place. 'Elfstedentocht' is a Dutch tradition, if the ice is thick enough skaters go past eleven city's for a medal. This statue has a lot of history, when you're done looking at the statue there are some fine restaurants with great views!

    Very nice small town. Worth to visit. Go to beach in summer and take a swim in Ijselmeer. You can go to many cafes, restaurants or have a kibbeling and watch the harbour life.

    This was a stop on our bike and barge, we enjoyed the ice cream and could sit and soak up the atmosphere.
