Alanya Kalesi
A medieval castle built high atop a hill, Alanya Kalesi now serves as an open-air museum. The castle was constructed mostly in the 13th century on the remains of former fortifications from the Byzantine and Roman eras. Built on a rocky peninsula in the Mediterranean Sea, the castle stands 250 m (820 ft) high and offers an unmatched view of the bay and the surrounding area. Make the long trek up, or jump in a taxi to reach the ruins of the massive castle, whose protective wall extends 6.5 km (4 mi), and which includes 140 towers. The site itself lacks a lot of historical information, so hire a local guide if you wish to learn more. You can plan Alanya trip in no time by asking Klarna Trips to help create your itinerary.

Awesome views from around the castle. It was closed by the time I got there but it had a sign that entrance fee is 65 TL. The view of the city is incredible. Even if you didn’t get to go inside it’s worth coming by and enjoying the scenery.

Good castle, in the castle itself information are only in Turkish so I didn't understand maybe make also in English? Also we payed extra entrance for that. The old Bazar is like all the other commercial stores nothing special I thought at least some Turkish tea will be served. All in all a great location to visit. Gondola are good it's 200 Lira for up and down unless you have an international student id card I didn't understand

For ease of getting to the castle it is best to take the cable car to near the top. Remember however that when you are off the cable car you are.not near to the main part of the castle and there are still lots of steps to climb higher. There are shops and cafes so in the heat plenty of cool off stops. There are also souvenir shops including market stalls selling cotton and lace goods, like tablecloths. Plenty of information around the castle to explain what is what. Great views from the top of Alanya.

Take the cable car ride, it's worth it! There's a LOT more to do and see than you may imagine, so make an excursion of it and be prepared to stay 3 hours or more. Average level of fitness required to walk up the staged levels and around the encampment. Time your visit to include sunset, you will appreciate spectacular views

Wow! So much better than expected. We went on a Saturday at 6 pm and it was pretty empty. Ruins are well conserved, and there are amazing views all around. It's a great escape from the busy city of Alanya. Price 50 TL per person. There are explanations although most are only in Turkish. We went up by car, there was a cheap parking space at the top.
