Hadrian's Gate
Hadrian's Gate represents a triumphal arch dedicated to Roman emperor Hadrian, who came to the city in 130 CE. The gate sits flanked by two towers and richly decorated with marble columns, coffered ceilings, and stone carvings featuring floral motifs, rosettes, and lion heads. While the southern tower was built in Hadrian's time, the upper part of the northern tower represents the Seljuk period. Notice the deep trenches in the stone pavement under the central arch, imprinted by the wheels of thousands of wagons. Nearby streets are lined with restaurants and shops selling carpets, glassware, spices, and dried fruit. Observe the three-arched gate from one of the benches of the park on its east side while sipping tea (seek out an itinerant çaycı--a Turkish tea waiter). This ancient Roman gate to the old city is incredibly well preserved for its age & is a good navigation point too. Like all this time of things, very popular & crowded & hard to get a decent picture.

All of Turkey boasts with many historic sites on its territory, and this one is absolutely the best and most important one you can visit in the sole city center. As you walk the main Ataturk boulevard there's no way to miss this imposing marble gate built almost 2000 years ago in honor of the great Emperor's visit. Outstanding piece of history and unmissable photo op

Amazing entrance gate to the old town. Amazing how the Romans constructed these gates and after all these thousands of years that they are still in great condition. A must visit if you are in the area

Remnants of Roman built city gate and walls. Though present structure is heavily renovated however it still has parts of original Roman cut arches and columns. Floor stone is worn out man be due to chariot tracks. It’s a must visit place along with old city and palatial villas.

Beautiful historical site ❤️ Pitty that it's not well kept and filled with litter and people smoking. An attraction definitely worth much more effort from the Antalya local council to keep it beautiful and clean without evening beggers and scooters parked everywhere.

The place is historical, so, don’t expect so much to see. Just a gate. You must be careful to your steps because the ground is not perfect for walking due to the rocks. You can only take photos and enjoying the place for 10 minutes as maximum. But the place as general is so amazing. You can walk through the old city with its old buildings, a wonderful experience. You can get through the narrow streets but prepare your camera for shooting. The entrance is for free. On the both sides of the street, you can find restaurants, cafes, shops, and night clubs for entertainment. The place is good by night rather than the day.
