  • It is a great economical-developmental achievement but unfortunately not promoted at all. I could see the damn while passing by a car through the highway… No documents, no postings, no information...

  • Visited this place this May. Wonderful location and views of the dam.
  • Turkey's second largest dam. It was built between 1965-1975 in order to generate electricity on the Euphrates river in the Keban district of Elazig, from which it takes its name. The artificial pond it created is the fourth largest lake in Turkey. With a total installed power of 1330 megawatts, when it was established, it alone met 20% of Turkey's energy need, but now it meets 1.8% with the increasing need over time.
  • When you see the size and magnificence of the dam, one commemorates with greater appreciation everyone who has worked here. A very big, beautiful and proud facility
  • It is one of the largest dams in Turkey. On the Elazig / Malatya road. It is the first big dam built by Turkish engineers. There are picnic areas near the Keban dam, but it is very dirty. I curse those who make such beautiful places this way. There is something called garbage.
  • The place where we ate the bread of our childhood. The dam set consists of rock fill and concrete fill. In this respect, its appearance is also different. One of our high school teachers used to call Keban Dam a work of art because of this feature. Once upon a time, it was like a fairy tale, it was so alive. Now they have built a park or something, but there are no people. There is a monumental inscription on the embankment with a list of those who lost their lives while the dam was built above the sluices. You can see it in the photos. Hey good days.
