Rustem Pasha Mosque showcases exquisite works of Ottoman art and architecture. Known foremost for the stunning Iznik tiles that create floral and geometric patterns across the porch, walls, and columns throughout the building, the mosque has been the source of the popularity of Iznik pottery. The chandeliers help to light up the spectacular art, carvings, and carpets that furnish this spiritual place. As a tourist, you may not visit the mosque during prayer time (during or around sunset and sunrise), and it is considered impolite to visit during group prayers or sermons. You must wear modest clothing and remove shoes before you enter. Ask your accommodation about how to get to the mosque and for prayer schedules. Klarna Trips's itinerary builder makes planning a Istanbul trip simple and quick.

One of the beautiful mosque in Istanbul. You don’t need to go other bigger or iconic one in my view. This hidden gem located next to the spice bazaar .. very beautiful blue tile inside and simple decorative made peace and serenity. Love the tranquility with seeing almost no tourist here !
-
In my opinion - the most beautiful mosque in Istanbul. A hidden jam. So much beauty inside and out. Best part - not that crowded. You need to check it out:)

100% agree with other reviews, this is really a hidden gem in the heart of istanbul. Finding the entrance was a bit tricky, but once you are in it feels like being somewhere else. Very peaceful, ornated like no other mosque. It was really a precious surprise

Rüstem Pasha Mosque is an Ottoman Mosque built by the famous architect Sinan during the reign of Sultan Süleyman. It was completed in 1593 and named after the Grand Vizier of Sultan Süleyman, Rüstem Pasha. The latest restoration was completed in 2021. Why you should visit it? 1- See a work of architect Sinan. 2- Visit a 430 year old Ottoman mosque 3- See the extraordinary collection of beautifully conserved Iznik tiles that adorn the interior, that you won't see anywhere else. The mosque is located next to the Spice Bazaar, another popular tourist spot. I have visited almost all of Istanbul's Ottoman mosques. This is definitely the one with the unique and beautiful tiled interior.

We've been in a few mosques since coming to Istanbul. All have been beautiful, but the one we keep going back to is the Rüstem Pasha mosque. It's a 16th century Ottoman mosque. Not very touristy and I don't know why. We sat in there for 20 minutes without seeing anyone else. Just stunning inside.
