Mevlana Muzesi features a green mausoleum and the original lodge of the 13th-century mystic Sufi Muslim order, the whirling dervishes. The museum houses musical instruments, conical caps, and robes belonging to Mevlana, the founder of the sect. You'll also find illuminated Korans, a 9th-century gazelle-skin Christian manuscript, and a valuable silk prayer rug bearing a picture of the Kaaba. The interior of the mausoleum is ornamented with Islamic script and enameled reliefs. Behind a 16th-century silver gate, look for the tomb of Mevlana covered in velvet cloth embroidered with gold. Ethnographical exhibits in the dervish cells illustrate their daily lives. Be aware that the complex can get very crowded, since it is still a place of pilgrimage. • This museum was absolutely breathtaking!! Everything from the many small exhibits showing artifacts of what people wore, used and made to the actual architecture of the inside and outside of the museum itself was delightful to the eyes! A very clean and well taken care of historical site. Recommend everyone to see this beautiful place.
  • The Mevlana Museum is a great place to stop if you’re in the area. If you practise Islam then it is probably a must; especially for those who study Sufism as this museum houses the orders founder. Much of the building is a kind of mausoleum dedicated to him. There is also a lot of information about Sufism and how it’s practiced. One of the key staples of Sufism was developing excellent calligraphy skills and they hand copied a lot of books. You can see many originals here.
  • Marvelous history museum. The leaders are located in this mosque and I could see that they were watching us spiritually visiting their resting place. At the same time it is believed that the box in my reviews has a rose smell from his beard. But the beauty of this place is breathtaking and how well it is being maintained with many tourist visit.
  • No words to explain the beauty of this place. Steeped in Islamic arts and history. If you are visiting Konya, you are unlikely to escape without spending an hour or two here. Best time to is early morning before the rush sets in so that you can take a close look in peace. While you are sure to enjoy this, don't forget to visit the mosque next door.
  • Peaceful and calm. It’s one of the best museum in Turkey to go&discover. When you come to see Konya, first place that you have to see I can say. You would see and amazed with culture of Sufi and Islam. You will have a chance to see different size of really old Quran’s which is book of Islam..
