  • Have your time praying in this ancient mosque.
  • Amazing
  • Go and stop by in Mardin. According to the expression of the young people and children there, I recommend you to listen to our index finger on the minaret (our finger of tawhid la ilahe illallah), that is our index finger, the 3 knuckles on the 3 ring fingers on the minaret and the signs in the first knuckle......... I recommend you to listen to the rest there. Inside the mosque, there is the sheriff of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Beard, you should definitely visit and see it. There is also a snake amulet and a scorpion amulet under the dome, whichever dome you are, that animal does not harm you. But the scorpion talisman was stolen, there was a snake talisman, we just passed under it. I strongly recommend you to stop by when you go to Mardin.
  • Ulucami, one of the rare works to be seen in Old Mardin, is the oldest of the mosques in Mardin. According to the inscription dated 1176 on the base of the minaret, it was written that it was built by Diyarbekir Meliki II Kutbüddin Ilgazi. The building, which has 16 different inscriptions, bears traces of the Artuqid and Akkoyunlu periods. The mosque, which was damaged in the Timur invasion in 1400 and one of its minarets was destroyed, was repaired during the time of Akkoyunlu and Mamluks. The building, which underwent serious repairs during the Ottoman period, was last restored in 2010. The mosque reflects the main features of the 12th century Artuqid period architecture. It is an important example of the plan and form of the mosque, which emerged especially in the southeast in the early period and developed transversely with a dome in front of the mihrab. The material of the building is smooth cut stone. The dome of the Ulu Mosque was made with the external fluting technique. It was first used in this building and later became a tradition in Mardin, which gave the characteristic features of later Artuqid structures.
  • It is one of the places that must be visited and seen in Mardin bazaar. The minaret on the west side of the mosque, which had 2 minarets at the time of its construction, was destroyed during the Timurid invasion. The minaret on the east side stands upright. Despite the slope of the ground it is on, it welcomes you with all its glory. It is worth going and seeing. I wish it was cleaner and more well-kept.
