View artifacts and artwork from the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantium, and Ottoman eras at Marmaris Museum. Located in a restored castle on the hills, the museum has two archeology lounges, one ethnography lounge, and a host of art galleries. The archeology lounges display earthenware and traditional jars, glassware, coins, and ornaments retrieved from different digs in the area. The ethnography lounge has woven tapestries, carpets, furniture, copper kitchen pieces, and weapons. Learn about their history through information boards posted in English and Turkish. Climb to the upper level of the museum for panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Note that you will be asked to check your bags with an attendant at the door. Be sure to call ahead or use the website for current opening hours. Add Marmaris Museum to your Marmaris travel itinerary, and discover new vacation ideas by using our Marmaris holiday website.

  • The museum is rather small, but the information boards are quite informative and in English as well. The artefacts are typical so if you have visited other museums in Tyrkey you have probably seen...

  • THE MUSEUM CREATED INSIDE THE MARMARIS CASTLE. IT IS CREATED FROM SMALL GALLERIES. TO VISIT THESE AREAS, YOU HAVE TO CLIMB MANY STAIRS. YOU MAY HAVE TO CONSIDER THIS. OTHER THAN THAT, THE WORKS EXHIBITED ARE SMALL IN QUANTITY AND VERY GOOD IN QUALITY. FINALLY, IT IS ONE OF THE PLACES TO SEE WITH THE KALE WHEN GOING TO MARMARIS.
  • It's a great museum. There are very well-maintained, very important works of art and unfortunately very few visitors come. I think the castle and museum deserve more visitors
  • I advise you to visit! A small museum is located in the castle of Marmaris. Interesting place, I liked it. Small but filled with various interesting things. Great views for a great photo shoot!
  • It's like a little tour of Phoenicians and Ancient Greece. It is a well-maintained and clean museum. You get information about how the maritime trade is done and what is used in that trade. A museum that mirrors the past
  • A place not to be seen. There is a view of the ring and the artifacts are very valuable
